The Francisco Family Tree?

Post by rfran027 »

I am trying to locate more info on my Grandparents. My nono is Guido Guiseppe Francisco (YOB 1909) and my nona is Molly Theres Frederico (YOB 1914). I was never given a clear picture of my geneology from my father who passed away at age 63 and my brothers and I only have bits and pieces to work with to find our roots. Please help!

They were married Oct 5, 1935 in Chicago, IL. My nono was born in Chicago and my nona was born in Schenectady, NY. My father was born in Schenectady in 1937.

I think my nono had at least 2 bothers one of which was named Rocco. I think he died somewhere in NY state and my Nona died in 1984 in Chicago.

My nona had at least 3 sisters, one of which was named Nelllie who died in Huntington Beach, CA. My father would always tell us his mom's full Itailian name was "Amallia", but I have not located any documents saying that was her given name.

Thank you for your help!

I created that tree however my fathers branch is not documentatd and is most likely incorrect. I have difficulty finding census and marriage documents for them. Could they have used different names. Did they "Americanize" their first names for the records? Is "Francisco" our true surname?

We don't know (yet)
It could be either one
A ship manifest or naturalization document should answer your question

:D Thank you
I'm still stuck in Chicago with your Francisco family.
I can't find a family with a Guido or Joseph and Rocco
Can't find the 1909 birth or 1935 marriage record which would have listed parent's names
Do you know what name Guido went by? Guido? Joseph? (?)
Do you know where/when Guido Giuseppe Francisco died?
Thanks!

According to my father our grandfather, Guido, died in prison around 1966, suposedly a ward of the state (New York ?). I don't know any other name Guido went by because my father and grandmother never spoke of him.

As a young man, Guido apparently was an accomplished boxer. He was also a hot tempered man and along with his bothers were quite a tough crowd, as my dad would tell us.
