You will have to correct your image link so that we can see the document.

Giovanni Parente, born October 29, 1848, Father Ciriaco Parente, mother Giuseppa De Iorio
Alessandro Parente, born August 8, 1879, Father Giovanni Parente, mother Anastasia Camerlengo.
You indicated that Alessandro was your grandfather, thus:
Giovanni Parente (1848) and Anastasia Carmerlengo were your great-grandparents
Ciriaco Parente and Giuseppa De Iorio were your great-great grandparents
Giovanni Parente (dob unknown, probably circa 1780-1790) and Veneranda Di Luca were your great-great-great grandparents
Does this answer the question? (your notations do appear to be correct. )

Thank you, I wasn't sure that I got it correct. My question is how do I go back farther in time?

Re: MY GRANDPA PARENTE'S TREE
Well, this is where things usually start getting difficult. Actually, you are lucky you got as far as you did (1812) as probably few comuni have records going back that far.Last wrote:Thank you, I wasn't sure that I got it correct. My question is how do I go back farther in time?
If you have reached a dead end with the comune, your only option now is to seek out church/parish records.
There are others here who can better advise you in that process than I can...

Church records...www.anzwers.org/free/italiangen/italian ... cords.html
Be nice to the jolly priests who are in total command of their parish records.
Hire his nephew if necessary to research. Some are agreeable and helpful while others are disagreeable and are not interested. =Peter=
