Looking for relatives posa larosa or (lacetto)

Post by toniejean »

This is the information I know so far. My great grandparents were from Calabria Italy. My Grandmothers brother went back to Calabria in 1947 and married a Maria (munno) Amantea Calabria. Joseph and Marina are my great grandparents. I am not sure when they came here but one of my great uncles was born feb 2 1930 in Rockingham pa. Their kids are Sam Victor James Dominick Doniella and helen. There was a baby infant helen that passed away. My grandmother from what I gathered for whatever reason did not want people to know that she was Italian and changed her name from Doniella to Antoinette. Go figure. She would not speak Italian up until she was about to pass away and was calling for her mother in Italian. I would like to know when my great grandparents came here and who there parents were and if I still have any realitives in Calabria

When/where was your grandmother born. What was her married name.
Thank you!

I think it was Rockingham Va. I am not sure if my grandmother was born here or in Italy. I do know that Victor went back to Amantea Calabria and married Maria(Munno)in 1947. My Grandmothers maiden name is Posa, but I am trying to find out information on my great grandparents. My grandmothers broter Dominick Donald Posa was born Feb 2 1930 My great grandparents were Joseph and Marina Posa(lacetto) LaRosa. I do know both of them were from Amantea Calabria Italy.I do know that My uncle Anthony would go there to visit and check on his grandparents.

possible clues from two obituaries to Marina's maiden name:
According to son Dominick's 2005 obituary, his mother's maiden name was LaRosa (first name Marina)
According to son Anthony's 2010 obituary, his mother's maiden name was Lacette (first name Marina)
