In an overly OCD fashion, I am presenting my binder on the 10th.
All documents are segmented by generation:
* USDIS - certificate of nonexistence for GGF (w/ alternative spellings of first and last name)
* USCIS letter of "non-existence" w/ case number and alternative spellings.
* NARA response (w/ alternative spellings first & last name)
* Kings County Clerk's Office - letter of not-found (w/ alternative spellings of first and last name)
* 1901 ship manifest of arrival
* 1910 GGF returned to italy.
* 1920 of GF census/ 1920 census of GGF returning again to USA/ 1930 census of GF head of house
* BC of GGF in Italy
* 5 different letters w/ searches for Municipal Archives stating they can't find my GGM BC
* Mariage Certificate of GGF & GGM in New York
* DC of GGF in Italy (w/ notations of him remarrying another 2 more times - wow!!)
* GF BC in NY
* GM BC in NY
* GF & GM Marriage
* GF Death certificate - ny
* Mom's Birth
* Dad's birth
* Mom/Dad's marriage w/ affadavit to ammend
* self & brothers birth certificate
* * all records (minus USCIS & Census) have been corrected/amended for spelling & date errors. All records from Municipal Archives have a note from K Cobb stating records cannot be amended.
* * affidavit (from Mom) - notarized & translated into Italian - stating the corrections needed that could not be amended from the Municipal Archive (too old).
* * copies of all documents/license/passport, my lease and utility bill.
I read that I needed an affidavit stating that translations are correct (notarized). Does the person who did the translations supply this? Is this abs. necessary?
I seriously hope I have everything and then some. Do you think there is anything else I could possibly need?
It was suggested to have a separate folder to keep non-line family member documents.
Should I do the same for the affidavits and ship manifest?
