Welcome to the Forum!
Since vital records in Italy are kept at the comune (town), do you know if they were from the comune of Siracusa or a comune in the province of Siracusa?
Did they leave Italy?
Thank you

Information that I have shows that they were married in Italy (or possibly Sicily)
and immigigrated to the US in the early 1900's. Salvatore was born around 1895? and died in the US in the 1940's in New Brunswick, NJ. Ignazia died at an early age in the US and Salvatore remarried a woman - first name Gemma. Trying to find any info on their parents.

Also looking for parents of Mauro Belluardo B:8/8/1894 in Italy D: June 1978 in Pt. Pleasant Beach, NJ. SSN 158 30 1444. And for parents of Concetta Palma (Palmisano) B: 2/20/1899 Martina Franca, Italy D: 1/28/1995 in Pt. Pleasant, NJ.

Please excuse the length of this post

If you would like to conduct your own research into your family's civil and in some locations church records, your nearest Family History Center can order records on microfilm.
The cost is about $5.50 mo (rent @), you’ll need to go to the center to order & view them.

Hi VJ,

Ignazia Buttitta was indeed correct and you found the right family.

Thanks so much for your help. And if you find anything else pertaining to the Bonventre and Belluardo families please let me know. Again, thanks, you were great.

Hi Valarie,

Molto grazie!!! You have given us names and information for grandparents we were looking for and uncles we didn't know we had.

It was wonderful to find all of this.

Would you be able to recommend any other research tools or websites that might have information that would only be found in Italy?

Thanks again for your kind assistance. If there might be any other family information please forward to us.

The best to you

Hey Paul,

Sometimes FamilySearch has extracted records for a comune. Search using your surname:
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/default.asp
---

ancestry. com has these original records in their world collection:

Italy Birth, Marriage & Death

Alessandria and Asti, Piedmont, Italy: Civil registration records, 1866-1938 (in Italian)
Caltanissetta, Sicily, Italy, Civil Registration Records, 1866-1939 (in Italian) - New/Updated
Como and Lecco, Lombardy, Italy, Civil Registration Records, 1866-1936 (in Italian)
Falerna, Catanzaro, Calabria, Italy, Civil Registration, 1810-1936 (in Italian)
Lodi, Lombardy, Italy, Civil Registration Records, 1866-1936 (in Italian)
Palermo, Sicily, Italy, Birth Records Index, 1876-1885 (in Italian) - Free Index
Pavia, Lombardy, Italy, Civil Registration Records, 1866-1937 (in Italian)
Potenza, Basilicata, Italy, Civil Registration Records, 1861-1938 (in Italian)
Siena, Tuscany, Italy: Civil Registration Records, 1866-1937 (in Italian)
Siracusa, Sicily, Italy, Civil Registration Records, 1900-1929 (in Italian) - New/Updated
Varese, Lombardy, Italy: Civil Registration, 1866-1937 (in Italian)
Verbano-Cusio-Ossola, Piedmont, Italy, Civil Registration Records, 1870-1937 (in Italian)

Most folks have had their best success researching their families in Italy by using the microfilm (if available) from their local Family History Center

Since Ignazia didn't travel with family, researching her family may have to start with her Italian records
