My maternal grandparents, Liberato Liberatore & Rosina Rossi, came from Italy and settled in Springfield, MA about 1915.
I'm trying to learn where in Italy they came from.
Can anyone assist?

Re: Liberato Liberatore & Rosina Rossi
Laura, I cannot thank you enough!
Gaitanella Liborato was my mother who later changed her name to Rosemary Caulfield.
She just died on July 8, a few days shy of 93. She was a decorated nurse in WWII, and eventually became a lawyer.
She was raised in foster care and never knew where her parents came from, her best guess being Florence. My "old school" Irish-English father, told me Sicily, but to him, that was an "insult."
I went to Florence a couple of years ago, but was told there that it was unlikely that they came from Florence and possibly from the Abruzzi region.
When I could, I was going back and visiting Sicily to continue my search.
I now see that it will include the Pratola Peligna.
Thanks so much again.

Re: Liberato Liberatore & Rosina Rossi
You're welcome Joseph... and I'm happy I was able to help you...
Pratola Peligna is a town of almost 8.000 inhabitants and it's not in Sicily but in the center of Italy, in the Abruzzo region...
