His destination was to a cousin Francesco Jacaruso in Waterburg Conn-614 Bank Street
Re: Jacaruso relatives
On 1930, I see a Joseph Jacaruso with wife Lena and 9 children living at Peeley Street in Fairfield County. He was age 48. ED 1-216, sheet 6 B, lines 58 to 68. Would he be your Joseph? If so, I'm sure someone will upload a copy of the census to the forum for you.

Re: Jacaruso relatives
on the 1920 census, Joseph's street name is given as Feeley St. I don't know which street name is correct. He was 37 on that census. ED 177, sheet 5 A, lines 2 to 8. The 1920 census shows that he had filed his first papers (declaration of Intent)
Re: Jacaruso relatives
1930 census shows that he was naturalized, in case you are searching for his naturalization records
Re: Jacaruso relatives
could someone please upload these census images to the forum? thanks

Joseph Jacaruso Italy Connecticut 5 Feb 1924
This may be him from the All U.S. Naturalization Records Indexes, 1771-1992 on ancestry.com
I don't have a subscription to ancestry.com, so someone else will have to retrieve the record for you.

Re: Jacaruso relatives
Thank you for your response and I am grateful for any information or thoughts. I am new at trying to research immigrant roots. I have this information if Joseph did indeed arrive aboard the Sardegna. I also found the S.S. Zeeland arriving on 4/19/1904, the Konig Albert on 11/25/1909 and the Berlin arriving on 12/8/1909 listing a Giuseppe Jacaruso aboard. The 1904 ship S.S. Zeeland seems unlikely since it departed from Belgium but the other two ships departed from Napoli and had "Foggia or Celonza" listed as birth locations. How do I discern the correct ship? I have no information on any relatives in Waterbury, CT but I am aware that lots of Jacaruso's live in the Waterbury area. It is possible but perhaps unlikely that my grandfather arrived in the later part of 1909 and by the 1910 census was married to Lena Lyons?and living in Stratford, CT? Their first child, Jennie, was born on 29 October 1910.
Re: Jacaruso relatives
if you get your hands on his naturalization records, the information about his passenger arrival should be on that or there may be a separate document called a certificate of arrival which would have the information

Re: Jacaruso relatives
He could have made some trips back and forth to Italy, that is always a possibility. I have no way of knowing that.
The vital records for the state of Ct are not currently online. There are only a few years of info available on the familysearch.org pilot website, but the years are too early for what you need.

The above website has a link for obtaining vital records from the state of Ct. If they married in the state, you might be able to get a marriage record for them, but you might have to give some rather specific info in order to do so. Personally, I have never worked with this archive, so I really can't say how helpful they will be.
