Searching for Eginardos
Searching for Eginardos
I am looking for ancestors of my italian Grandfather Luigi Eginardo. He came from Padova but moved to Milan in the 30s
Re: Searching for Eginardos
Thanks. I came up with 7 hits which come from Piove Di Sacco which is the actual town they came from so I suspect we are related. Trouble is they only have phone numbers. Is there a site like ancestry.co.uk only for Italy?
Re: Searching for Eginardos
you know the probable birthyear of Luigi Eginardo?
from 1846 to 1902 it was only 1 Luigi Eginardo born in Padova province; born in Piove di Sacco:
EGINARDO Luigi born the 05/05/1862 PIOVE DI SACCO (Padova province)son of Isidoro

Re: Searching for Eginardos
MY grandfather was born 23 May 1904 so it looks like maybe he was the grandson of the person you mention ?
My grandfather married Maria Ferrara though I am not sure what date. My 80 year old mother is still alive but she is hopeless with her family history.

Re: Searching for Eginardos
by LDS microfilms you can search abt your Luigi Eginardo, knowing so the parent's names:
Registri dello stato civile di Piove di Sacco (Padova), 1871-1929 Piove di Sacco (Padova). Ufficio dello stato civile
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/library ... ++di++Piov++
and if your Luigi married in or before of 1929 you can know also the marriage date...
as a well also Luigi siblings..

Re: Searching for Eginardos
That's fantastic thanks. There is a centre not far from me so hopefully they can order a film for me.
Re: Searching for Eginardos
As a matter of interest how did you find out about the Eginardo you mentioned above ?
EGINARDO Luigi born the 05/05/1862 PIOVE DI SACCO (Padova province)son of Isidor
Also for you reference the prices seemed to gone up substantially. The cost for short term (60 dyas) now is $12 and for indefinate use is $24. It costs more for England.
I was told that recently the ordering process has been changed so you have to it online. The URL for that is https://film.familysearch.org

Re: Searching for Eginardos
I just found out my Grandfather Luigi had a sister called Isidoro so it looks pretty certain the Luigi you found is my great grandfather. thanks again
Re: Searching for Eginardos
Thanks for everyone's help. I eventually found a lead as through the Eginardo driving school in Piove di Sacco. I went to visit and found full histories of both my grandparents which was fascinating. Also met some wonderful relatives and it seems I am related to half of piove.
