Colino in Contursi Terma

Post by scolino »

My Great Grandfather, Orazio Colino, Came from Contursi Terme in 1904. I will be travelling there next weekend. What is the best way to find people of that name in that town?

Grazie. Si, Contursi Terme.
I found two people whose names are Colino that are close to there. I will try to find e-mail addresses.

Hi,

I was in Contursi last summer. It is a wonderful town and the people are kind and friendly. Unfortunately, not too many speak English. Do you speak Italian? How long will you be there?

I was able to get my grandparents birth records at the municiple building, but I had my cousin who lives in town with me.

If you want more info PM me.

By the way civil records only go back to 1868. The only way to get records before that time is from the church. I did not have the time to even attempt that.

Thank you for your help. My Italian is lousy at best. I only get in Saturday morning and leave Sunday morning.

It's not likely that the municipal building will be open on the weekend. If you don't mind my asking, where are you staying? Perhaps someone there speaks English.

I tried a PM, but it seems stuck in my outbox:

I have not reserved a place to stay yet. I was going to find a couple of alternatives and visit them, hoping to find someone that speaks English. Any suggestions?

A quirk in the system. PMs stay in your outbox until they are opened by the receiver. I just got it and answered. I'm going to look up some things for you.
