I'm looking for the Peroni's in Prascorsano, Turin

My GGrandmother, Caterina Peroni, daughter of Andrew and Rose Peroni traveled to the United States in the 1860's. She married Biago Morganti, in Boston, MA, USA. By 1900 she had given birth to 7 children only 2 of whom were still living. One of those children was my grandfather John J. Morganti. I have been unable to find any information about their ocean passage. I did find that Andrew Peroni was born in 1816 in Prascorsano, Turino, Italy. Any help or leads you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, I'm still having no luck locating Caterina's manifest...

Since her brother was born in Italy in 1852, and died in Boston in 1877...

We can be definite about the arrival being between those dates...

Hi Tessa,
Thanks for all the info you posted about the Peroni's and Morganti's. I didn't have the info about Caterina's brother or the Castle Garden site...I'll check there for ship manifests.

Frank Morganti died at the age of 27 on 27 Jan 1900. I haven't found any references to the other four siblings.

I was hoping to find out more information about Andrew and Rose Peroni in Italy...do you have any suggestions about how I should go about doing that?

If you are certain that Andrew (probably Andrea) was born in Prascorsano, Turino... then you can write directly to the comune (town) to request his birth record. There is usually no fee for this.
On his birth record should be a notation for his marriage (date and place). If Rosa was from another comune, it will be indicated in this notation...

Thanks again for all this really useful information. I never expected such a quick response. I originally started just looking for my grandfather's (John J. Morganti) death records. I have his marriage, some census and his draft registrations for WWI and WWII. He listed an address in New York for the WWII one. I've come to a dead end...I can't find any SS death listing either. Do you have any suggestions?
