Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.
Hi
Would anybody be able to advise where I could find these (if available)?
I'm looking for Jerome and Albertino Cavassi or Cavazzi about 1880's. I have them on the 1881 census as being visitors in London then they moved north to Newcastle upon Tyne and set up home.
I would really appreciate any info on their journey from Italy,
Thanks
Sharon.
After 1878, the UK Archives points you to Ancestry . com, which has a single Cavazzi listing (for "Joseph") and none at all for Cavassi. Without an International plan on Ancestry, I cannot see the details of the Joseph Cavazzi record ( http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/ss ... x&uidh=000 ).
Thanks for the info. I have .com and Joseph is not mine he was about 25 years out date wise. I'll check the national archives just incase they came earlier than I thought.
Thanks again
Sharon
