Found more info. Need help, Please

Post by stew »

Hi everyone.

I found some new information on my wifes' cousin. I was searching for the origins of the last name Gelorme. I discovered the real surname is;

Francesco Digiloramo . Immigrated to the US around 1903. Wife -Mary or Maria. Son- Hugo born 1903

Would this name indicate he is from Calabria?

You can type in the surname in the search engine on this website and see the various regions in Italy where it exists

I am concerned by the fact that neither Digiloramo nor Di Giloramo appear in the current Italian telephone directory. I suspect that you still haven't got the name or spelling quite right.

Thanks for the help everyone. It's much appreciated.

Looks like Francesco didn't arrive until March, 1905. Maria sailed with her father, mother, and cousin in 1903.
