Dear Suanj,

Did Filippo have a middle name? Do you know anything about him? Did he stay in the States?

I did find a Philip Balbi in New Jersey in 1920, but he was too young, he was born about 1894.

In the 1910 census, I found a Frank Balbi/Bolbi in Colorado married to a Florence who was born about 1864.

I also found the following in the New York City Death Index.

Surname Given Name Age Month Day Year Certificate
Number County Soundex
Balbi Anna 62 y May 13 1921 8934 Kings B410
Balbi John B 46 y Sep 17 1927 21395 Manhattan B410
Balbi Leonardo 1 d Aug 30 1922 22324 Manhattan B410
Balbi Pasquale 76 y Feb 18 1917 6323 Manhattan B410
Balbi Philippe 66 y Dec 25 1927 23577 Kings B410
Balbi Vincent 3 m May 13 1926 11773 Kings B410

I'll keep searching for you Suanj.

Dear Suanj,

Here is the information on the 1920 Census of New Jersey.

Philip Balbi, born abt. 1892, in Italy
Millie Balbi, born abt. 1892, in Italy
Josephine, born abt. 1916, in New Jersey
Frances, born abt. 1918, in New Jersey
Joseph, born about 1920, in New Jersey

According to this census, Millie (which could be for Carmela) came in 1899 to the USA. Philip came about 1900 and I can't make out if it states if he was already Naturalized for the census isn't a good copy.

I'm still searching records for you.
Hope this is the person you are looking for.

Hi Suanj,

I can send you a copy of this census through email if you give me permission to do so.

So far I haven't found anything else on them, but I'm still looking.

Happy to help!!! Thank you also for all the help you give all of us here on the forum.
