Orphanages in Benevento

Hello,
I am searching for information about the orphanage I was placed in about a month after I was born.
I was born in 1957 in San Salvatore Telesino and placed in an orphanage I believe in Benevento. My birth name was Gaetano Alterisio. From searches over the years I found out that my Mother's name was Lena Alterisio. At the time of my birth she would have been 19. Years ago I received information that she left Italy and moved to Australia for seven years. She then returned to Italy and resided in Rome. I have been doing this search for so many years to no avail. I am very interested in learning as much as I can about my past. I used to have a letter from the Director of the orphanage but lost it many years ago.
I was adopted by a family in New York and came over to the states in June 1960. The name given to me by my adoptive parents is Joseph Raverta
Any help or guidance that can be given is greatly appreciated.
