Paniale - Pezzi Family

I am looking on information of the history of two family names that were from Italy.

First one is Antonio Paniale. He was born September 8th 1905 in Borgo D'ale. I can't confirm the following, but I believe his mother was Domenice Adorno and is brother was Giuseppe Paniale. They all moved to the Blairsville, PA area.

My second family I wish to research further is Antonio Paniale's wife Gina Pezzi. I know a bit more about her. Her brothers name was Chester Pezzi. They both moved to the Blairsville, PA area. Their parents are Cesare Pezzi and Selene Culatina. I believe Selene's father was Giovanni Cultatina. I believe they all come from the San Martino area.

Any direction you can lead me would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if you need more information and I will provide what I can.

This roll of microfilm available for rental from a local family history center has only one year of records on it. The 1905 records for the town of Borgo d'Ale are supposed to be on this film.

You could try sending for Antonio's birth record since you have his date of birth and his mother's name. Possibly you could get his father's name from the town just by emailing them with the date and mother's name.

Obituary for Chester, not alot of information to be had, but dates to add to the family tree...

Chester R. Pezzi, 86, of Blairsville, died Wednesday, May 26, 2004 a the Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana.

A son of Cesare and Selena Culatina Pezzi, he as born Feb. 22, 1918 in Blairsville.

Mr. Pezzi lived all his life in Blairsville, where he was a member of SS Simon and Jude Roman Catholic Church and the Italian Mutual Aid Society.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Prior to his retirement in 1989, he was employed by Dick Corporation.

He is survived by his wife Flora Beppler Pezzi, whom he married Nov. 22, 1949; two daughters, Linda Cumberledge and her husband, Duwane, of Spring Church, and Connie McGann and her husband, Walter, of Blairsville;

Also four grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Gina Paniale; a niece, Dolly Rellick; and a nephew, Donald Paniale.

A blessing service was held Saturday in Shoemaker Funeral Home, Blairsville with Fr. Chester J. Raimer officiating.

Interment was in SS. Simon and Jude Cemetery, Blairsville. Military services were accorded by the Blairsville VFW and the American Legion.
