Alcara Li Fusi - Looking for Mauizza Rundo (married Bartolo)

Post by trundo »

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to find an ancestor that was listed in a death notice for Gantano Rundo (see attachment).

The name is Mauizza Bartolo from Italy and is the sister to Gaetano Rundo. Parents name: Vincezeno Rundo and Anna Satulla.

I am assuming since Gaetano Rundo was born in Alcara Li Fusi along with brother & sister, Calogero "Charles" Rundo and Marie Lucia Rundo (married name Conforto) that Mauizza was also born in Alcara Li Fusi. But I haven't been able to find any info. I have checked the FamilySearch.org site and looked at the records from the Mormon Church Family History Center but no luck.

It states the name MAUIZZA.
It could also be MARIZZA or MARISA or MARUZZA.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Marty,

That is a good idea. I will look into writing a few letters to the Rundo surname first since that would be Mauizza's maiden name.

Now any idea's on how to figure out if a street name has changed over time? I have written to the commune of Alcara Li Fusi several times with no response. The street in question is Via Carceri 18. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Suanj,

Mauizza is not the surname, it is the given name. The surname would be Rundo or her married name of Bartolo.

The attached document states
"...beloved brother of Charles (deceased), Mrs. Lucia Conforto, Mrs.
Mauizza Bartolo of Italy;..."

I have information on Charles (Calogero) Rundo and Marie Lucia Conforto (nee Rundo), just haven't been able to find anything on Mauizza Bartolo (nee Rundo) - other than this death notice of the brother, Gaetano Rundo.

Any other ideas?
