Thank you so much suanj!
I have the advantage of my father living with me, he is 95 years old, soon to be 96. Actually, it is for him that I have gotten back into the genealogy
He has a great interest and has been living with myself & my husband for the past 6 years.
Yes, my great grandfather decided to change his name to Carlotti for awhile...which his sons greatly objected to and it caused a family row lol. My father has said his father spoke of the situation and was disgusted about it for years....none of the other family members went along with the change and I don't think great grandfather continued with it.
Rosa is another member of the extending Coragliotti clan living & working the mines in MI.
Also, my father said that his father used to send money every month to his sister, Angelina, and he thinks it was to Italy, he's not sure though. He remembers the situation from his mother & father discussing it and the times his mother wasn't happy with the situation because of her own children's needs. So goes the family dynamics! lol
He thinks the surname was something like Conforti or Confarti....but not sure and I can find no trace of her in Bosconero YET...this is another of the mysteries I'm working on...so far, doing the genealogy on my Italian family has been a fantastic mystery novel with plenty of twists & turns to keep it exciting and with lots of intrigue! lol
I still haven't found the ship or route my family took to get to MI...I'm thinking it as out of France and to Canada, then probably a smaller vessel across the Great Lakes...and I don't think, at this point there is a transcription of the that type of immigration. I was hoping maybe someone here might know of a site or a book or some other direction I could try, etc? My great grandmother and Angelina more than likely traveled the same route as Louie & Michael (and the others) did.
I'm really excited about the twins...the timing is right, about every two years or less between pregnancies...plus, I'm sure my geat grandmother probably was pregnant between the birth of Frank & the birth of Emmett....may have been miscarriages?? I'll never know.
You've given me a few more clues to search out to unravel the mystery and I'm very grateful
