The obituary on Angelo stated he had a brother in New York
I can't seem to find any information beyond the date of his arrival in this country.

Any information would be appreciated......

You may have already found this but I thought I would post it...
POSSIBLY Angelo's son Louis Barone...

Veterans Burial Card for a Louis Barone - born September 13, 1894
From Lawrence County, PA

This looks like it could be the second child of Angelo and Carolina (b. 9/1894 as per census)
This card gives his enlistment date, discharge date, and his Army rank and company.
Curiously, it looks like it gives an alternate spelling for his last name (BARR)???

Maybe you can use this information to get records that would provide you with more information about his parents Angelo and Carolina...

The information I had was corroborated by the 1900 census, of which I have a copy. There are many mispellings in the names. I am 80 years old and my mother was just an infant when both parents died in 1905. I knew all the children ( my Aunts and Uncles) excepting Ralph who died in Chicago. Robert the eldest child resided in Chicago and he also served in the army in WWI. In the 1900 census Barone is mispelled as Birone, Rubus should be Robert, and Roffle should be Ralph. My mother Marguerite was not yet born as well as her youngest siste Joann. I havent been able to trace further back on the Barone family than my Grandfather Angelo. My mother always said his name was Michael Angelo, but all records that I have indicate his name was Angelo. He was a quarryman and worked at limestone quarry in New Castle, Penna. I do have his picture, but was just hoping to find out more about my maternal grandfather. Thank You so much for your response. It is deeply appreciated.......Musicdad

The most important piece of information you will need to trace your ancestor Angelo Barone back to Italy is his EXACT place of birth (the town/village)...

The earlier manifests (Angelo's would be about 1883) do not usually provide this information. You will need to find other sources (which is why I suggested following the information on Louis :-) )

If he completed the Naturalization process, you can request his papers from the NARA or USICS. Do you have any of these papers, or reference numbers for his declaration or petition? How did you arrive at the above dates of "application" and "issue"?

Another possibility....the Social Security application of one of the children - preferably the oldest) which should indicate the names and birthplaces of the applicant's parents. This is available from Social Security Administration for a fee... You will need the SS# which is usually found on a death certificate among other places.
You can request at this site...
http://genealogy.about.com/gi/o.htm?zi= ... t/main.jsp

If you can get a copy of one of the children's marriage record, that may also provide some information regarding parents. You may be able to confirm Angelo's first name...
Birth and death certificates may be helpful as well.

Lastly, though you have much information from the 1900 Census, you should be aware that Census records are notoriously inaccurate. You can see this just in the spelling of the children's names (My guess is that Roffle is actually Raffaele, which would be Americanized to Ralph).

Continue to look for any documentation that can provide a clue...
Good luck.

I'll keep looking as well :-)
