Foundling/Orphan information in birth record

Post by Risser »

In several commune and church family records, my great grandmother is listed as "ignare" and "Della maternita". No birth information is ever listed besides year, and no parents or home commune. Does this mean that she was a foundling or orphan?

No, sorry, there is no birth record. It is listed as I mentioned on marriage record, and birth record of children, and church census.
