Looking for Foppiano Ancestors from Rapallo

Hello,
I am new to the board today and seeking information on my husband's Foppiano ancestors. It has been suggested that I ask the Parishes of Rapallo for birth records for Mary Foppiano, born March 10, 1862, but I don't know how to contact them. We know that Mary's father was Etienne "Steven" Foppiano of Rapallo and that he had several siblings who emigrated to America. I have the names Catherine Foppiano, born May 1837, in Rapallo, Giovanni Foppiano, born ca. 1838, in Rapallo, Maria Foppiano, born ca. 1844, Uncle Billy Foppiano was born ca. 1849 in Rapallo. Possible manifest for Giovanni Foppiano, born about 1838... (age 13)
He was from Cicagna, Italy - a town adjacent to Rapallo
Sailing from Genoa, July 1851, to New York on the Brig Ippogrifo




If you write to Rapallo and do not have success, you might try writing to Cicagna

we're talking about the area where I live and I know that the Foppiano lastname is tipical of the town of Cicagna, I was wondering why Annette was so sure about Rapallo...

Ancestry.com has online the civil registration for the town of Cicagna, this is why I was asking Annette if Maria Foppiano (Stefano daughter) had siblings hoping to find some of them born after 1866/1867...

I am sorry that I did not reply to your postings! I thought that if anyone responded to my inquiry that I would receive an email notification and I did not, so I mistakenly thought no one had information or interest in the Foppianos. Now it is a year later and I logged on to take another look around and was surprised to see your postings.

Mary Foppiano, her father, and her uncle were all from Rapallo by their own testimony. Mary was accompanied by her father to America in 1879, but he returned to Italy where he lived the rest of his life. There were several children in the Foppiano family and a step-mother and younger half siblings (all names unknown).

I will be sure to check the forum for any future postings! Annette
