certificates of good conduct

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

certificates of good conduct

Post by roobyred »

When applying for dual citizenship in NYC, do I need to get a certificate of good conduct for myself and my husband? My appointment is tomorrow and I just read this!!!
I don't think I'm prepared for tomorrow now
Thanks Roberta

Only if you are applying through marriage to an Italian citizen.

Presuming you are applying for jure sanguinis recognition, your past conduct is immaterial; you either were or were not an Italian citizen from the moment of birth. You could conceivably be a convicted murderer serving a life sentence in prison and still assert your right to Italian citizenship by descent. :)
