Only if you are applying through marriage to an Italian citizen.
Presuming you are applying for jure sanguinis recognition, your past conduct is immaterial; you either were or were not an Italian citizen from the moment of birth. You could conceivably be a convicted murderer serving a life sentence in prison and still assert your right to Italian citizenship by descent.
