I HAVE RECEIVED THE ABOVE IN RESPONSE TO MY REQUEST TO THEM TO SEE IF THEY WOULD ACCEPT A BANK CHECK MAILED TO THEM, RATHER THAN TO DO A WIRE TRANSFER. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME IF THEY ARE WILLING TO ACCEPT A BANK CHECK VIA MAIL, BY READING THIS EMAIL???
Grazie,

Dolores

Ich hätte da mal eine allgemeine Frage. Ist die Zahlung in schweizer Franken denn grundsätzlich auch auch bei Euch möglich?

no, they do it in this way like stated.
if they would eccept checks, they would have written about that.
did you ask for that?
checks are unusual here......

Yes, I did ask for that a while ago, as they asked for my address. It has taken sometimes two months to receive a reply, is that normal? Once I received a reply the next day but that was very unusual.

often some differences. no idea which parish-church you asked.
often much work or not so many officers some times or so.....
in Austria often also differnces when i asked at same archive different times. it was Vienna historical registry dates. one time it needed a week, another time nearly 2 months. one time another person worked on it and possible my question has taken more time, or this person works not so quickly like another. anything is possible. it´s normal - sometimes you have to be patient. ;-)
do it in the way they stated with the bank-transfer. i know not any office in Germany or Austria which works with checks. it´s not usual in Europe and nobody likes it. it has never been enforced here.
when you not give your post-adress they cannot send the results they found or the documents if you have ordered. not all offices send what they found or what is ordered about e-mail.

Thanks, I've been patient. When I referred to two months, it was before they would even reply to my email, even though we had been corresponding on a regular basis. It is St. Georgen Glauchau. A prior request to Germany before this one, I received the records by email, even though I asked for them to mail it to me, and they had my address. Sorry, it sounds as though I am complaining, I am not, I am just trying to sort it all out.............
