Surname: Terraferma Town: Afragola

Post by watdahek »

I am looking for information on Vincenzo and Concetta Terraferma who travelled to the USA in 1913. I believe he was born in Afragola and they were married in there as well. If anyone could be of any assistance regarding marriage date, siblings, parents, maiden name of Concetta, etc... I would greatly appreciate it. I am in the beginning stages of my family tree and this is my first link directly to Italy. Thanks for the help.

Your in luck. Records are available from your town from 1809-1953.

Here is a post by Trish on how to use the microfilm records.

Hello Steve,
on Ellis Island passenger list I can see that Vincenzo was 27 in 1913 (born about 1886) and Concetta was 24 (born about 1889).
In the passenger list Vincenzo says he was born in San Pietro, Concetta in Afragola.
This are the towns called san Pietro in Italy

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... umns=*,0,0

You should see first which one it is.
If he was from the region of Campania:

Italy, Avellino, San Pietro
Italy, Avellino, San Pietro Indelicato
Italy, Caserta, San Pietro Infine
Italy, Salerno, San Pietro al Tanagro
Italy, Caserta, San Pietro Incorpo

After you find the right place, you can see on birth act aof about 1886 for Vincenzo, on the right part of birth certificate there is written name of Vincenzo's spouse and date of marriage.
Next step, you should see the LDS microfilm of Afragola about birth act of 1889 to find about Vincenza

I hope it helps, bye ricbru

Thank you everyone for the help. I am looking forward to researching all of this info. As for the question about Raffaelle Pelliccia, I am still looking into that he was listed on the manifest as Vincenzo's brother (but different last name so I am confused). Vincenzo traveled to the US twice both times to join Raffaelle. Raffaelle arrived in the US on 3/20/1903, I found that manifest as well, he traveled with 2 other people the names were hare to make out but I think they are Marco Verraziaro and Domenico Ruzzo. I haven't been able to figure out who they were joining yet. All the info is greatly appreciated.

Have you located census info on any of these persons?
If not, please mention location, known spouses and children.
