I checked this site:

Re: Migra family - Italy
Thank you Laura and Marty. Yes I am sure about the spelling. There are similar spellings like Migrazzy, Migrassi, Migray, Migrai (which could be Migrazzy/i mispelled) and Migra. The family lore along generations states that the family came from Italy in the late 1500s. I do not know Italian, but Migrazzi seems like an Italian surname?

Marty: interesting lead, could you post more details about the Migra family in Czechoslovakiq?

Re: Migra family - Italy
Hello Marty,
Many thanks for the valuable information. I checked in the internet, there are also cities called Magra, like Castelnuovo di Magra, Ponzano Magra, Santo Stefano di Magra, in the coastal region of La Spezia. Did not find any city called "Migra", but not sure, it can exist! As for the Italian surname "Migra", do not know a database where to look for it. How it works in Italy, is there a central national archive that keeps the old birth, marriage and death records?

Re: Migra family - Italy
Just found a register from two Migra, who immigrated to the US in the late 1800s http://www.lookupthe.name/italians.php?f=ln&q=Migra . So there was/is a family Migra in Italy. The question now: from which region they are?
