Re: Zagarele, De/DiMartine, Yannini
I think I found a relative in the Italian White pages, Angela Iannini...would Iannini be pronounced as Yannini in English? Is that her address listed?
Hate to seem so ignorant but this is all new territory for me.
Thanks so much for your help.

Re: Zagarele, De/DiMartine, Yannini
the placename is :
San Lorenzo del Vallo (in Cosenza province/Calabria region...), here
http://ellisisland.org/search/shipmanif ... 4406030169 are same surname coming from san lorenzo del Vallo, but is hard to reaf the handwriting for exact surname spelling... and, why San Lorenzo del Vallo is very near Spezzano Albanese common, id possible that the just spelling, really, is SINIMARCO that exist in Cosenza province and/or also is SIRIMARCO.......

Information has been transpiring between me and Kit since May. Here is all the information.

Hi, Frank Martine was a tailor, sister lived in Italy, named Adelino Yannini DeMartino. My Grandmother, Cherabina Cinnemarko b.27 Jan 1890 in Phila. Pennsylvania, was taken back to Italy when 3 yrs old. She came back at age 14 and was married. Her mother, Marianna Yannini, father Nunziad Cinemarko, siblings Guido Cinemarko and Adalai Cinemarko.
The towns my Uncle mentioned are:
San Giacomo DeCerzeto Cozensa zip 87060
Spezzano Albanese zip code 87019
Thanks for your time

Dear Kit,
I have a copy of the 1910 & 1920 Federal Census for Philadelphia for Frank Martino, Cassie, and family. If you would send me your email address to me at brujaojos@yahoo.com, I will then send you these records via email. (this information was already sent)
I did look around both Ellis Island and pre-Ellis Island for records for Sirimarco. I also checked the Philadelphia port and didn’t find any of your relatives coming into the USA. The spelling must be way off.
Here's all your options, you can go to the National Archives at 9th & Chestnut Streets and search for Naturalization records for your Francesco (Frank Martino) & Nunziato Sirimarco.
You can go to the Philadelphia Archives at 31st & Market Streets to look for the Birth Record of Cherubina for 1890 as well as you can try to look for Naturalization records there also. If you can go in person, I would do that than to try to write. I will be honest and say that they are not as helpful as some of the other Archives.
Also, if your grandparents died in Philadelphia especially per the Census looks like South Philly, there is a good chance they are buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, PA.
Now there is microfilm that you can order and rent from your nearest Family History for $3.50 a roll depending on your location.
This is the film for Cerzeto
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... =1&last=50
Here is the film numbers for Spezzano Albanese
http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... =1&last=50
Here are the film numbers for the town of San Lorenzo del Vallo. http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library ... =1&last=50
Francesco Martino married Cherubina Sirimarco in 1905 in Philadelphia, PA. The License #189454. You would order microfilm #1276771 (Philadelphia Marriage License Film Numbers Marriage licenses no. 189100-189699 1905 FHL US/CAN Film 1276771)
What you do is order the microfilm at your nearest Family History Center for about $3.50 a roll. When the film comes in, scroll to the License #189454 and there should be about 3 pages for the Marriage Application and Marriage Certificate. Since it's 1905 there might be some nice information on there like Birth Dates, etc.
One last comment, do you have anyone's death certificate? If that was filled out properly, you can get the parents names on it.
I hope this helps,
Trish (dated: May 10, 2005)
