Birth Certificate

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Birth Certificate

Post by ktpoloni »

How would I go about obtaining a birth certificate from Italy? My great grandfather Antonio Angelo Poloni was born in Fino Del Monte, Italy on March 21, 1895. I am trying to received duel citizenship and from what I gather, I need a copy? And information or tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

Check rhe Internet for the address of the comune and send them a letter. You will find templates for this purpose at www.italiancitizenship.freeforums.org

Thanks guys! Do they usually send a hard copy or a PDF? Does it have to be a certain way for when you bring it for Dual Citizenship?

You will need a hard copy, and that is what they will probably send.

Whatever they send you from the Comune will be perfectly acceptable for the purpose of a JS citizenship application as long as it contains the names of the parents of your ancestor.

I doubt very much that they will send you a PDF document, but if they do, you will need to print it, and the printout is essentially a copy of an official and stamped document. I would request a hard copy to ensure acceptance.
