arrival US

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

i DO not think they were married in 1908. I believe he did the talking. one boy born 1908, the second 1910 and the marriage was 1911. He had to say they were married because they had the 2 boys. In searching I discovered she had five (5) still born babies. in previous forum it states 3 but I found 2 more after that. I cannot find when she migrated to US or ? where she docked or her native village. I have hit a brick wall. thank you

Rose, I have another thought
I was reviewing Francesco's 1918 WWI Card again
For nearest relative:
Is it possible that instead of his father Joseph, he wrote Josephine?
He started to write his address in Utica and changed it to Italy.
Since Giuseppa's death certificate can't be found, she isn't listed in St Elizabeth's cemetery in Wellsville with either of her children - could she have gone back to Italy?

Just a thought - Utica is in NYS, and there is a Wellsville in NYS also. Have you searched that area?

The 1918 draft registration is my father, Francisco Paternoster, Francisco Laucello has the address of 1006 Jay Street, Utica, New York. He did not serve in the military. my father did. I never knew of Wellsville, New York. I believe he left wellsville, Ohio in 1917. pulled the boys from school and headed to Utica, NY. He put the boys in St Vincent's Industrial School. (orphanage. Giuseppa Goffredo Laucello disappeared ???? after the birth of the last stillborn baby on May 4, 1917. My father discharged from service in 1918. I looked at his registration and I cannot see where it was changed as residence Italy. what part are you referring to. I wish I knew how to find when and where she docked. ? where did he meet her? I think in Pennsylvania. I will try to find the name of the town. thank you. Rose
