DeAngelis

Post by DeAngelis »

Hello,
I am looking for information about my grandfather's family. His name was Pasquale DeAngelis. He was born April 11, 1887 and lived in Rofrano. He left Rofrano and came to the United States on the Taormina and arrived in New York on March 22, 1912.
I believe he had a brother, Francesco, born 1891 and who also came to the United States on the Taormina in April, 1914. There may also have been a brother Nicola and some sisters. We believe that his parents names were Domenico and Anna. I have no other information about his life in Italy.
Thank you!
Diane

If you are looking for vital records of your ancestors, I'm sorry, but there are no resources at Family Search Centers.
State Archives can do some research, if you know approximate dates, but they only have registers prior to 1865.
So, I think the one thing you can do is writing to the Commune of Rofrano to request your ancestors' birth acts.
If you write by ordinary mail, the address is:
Comune di Rofrano
Via P. Scandizzo, 35 84070 Rofrano

email address seems to be
protocollo.rofrano@asmepec.it

In this site you will find several templates of letters.
Giuseppe "Pippo" Moccaldi

Certificate requests and genealogical researches in Italy.
Translation of your (old) documents and letters.
Legal assistance in Italy for your Italian citizenship.
