If your ancestors was born in CHIETI Common( and not in some common in Chieti province/area), well, for the infos and certificates that you need , you must write in CHIETI common

Thank you very much for your help!!! Do you know how much birth and marriage records cost in Italy. The money would be sent in U.S. funds.

Hi Smiley,

Here is a link to help you write a letter in Italian to request birth, marriage and death records.

http://www.circolocalabrese.org/resources/index.asp

Write and request the records on free or non-legal paper. Enclose an addressed envelope and an international postal reply coupon. They, hopefully will send the document you requested or notice telling you the cost. If there is a charge for the document you have to pay in euros.

If you need the records on official stamped paper there will be a charge. Seems different towns have different charges.

Hi There,

If you family is from Chieti, then the Family History Center has microfilm and you can order the microfilm for the year of birth for Camillo. The film costs about $3.50 depending on your location. The microfilm are copies of the actual Birth, Marriage, and Death Acts.

Here is the link for the film numbers.

Here is a link to find the nearest Family History Center.

Have a good one.

Hello, According to Camillo's Alien Registration Form it states he was born in Caramana, Chieti Italy. Is there such a place. Would there be a different address to write for birth records?

If it is Caramanico, which is a frazione of Chieti as suanj pointed out, use the address above.

Or maybe it is Caramanico Terme, in the province of Pescara, which is only 8 miles from Abbateggio (see post on Fiandrini). Pescara and Chieti are very near to each other, and part of the province now called Pescara may have then been called Chieti. In this case you will need a different address, but I don't know it.

Actually, the town currently called Carmanico Terme was called simply Caramanico until 1960. I think this is your town.

There are still two familes there with the Zucca surname.
