Reply to Scooterguy:
Are you looking for Guadagno or Quadagno? My great-grandmother's maiden name was Guadagno, she was from Maddaloni, Italy and came to New Haven CT with my great-grandfather Biagio Merola. She had been married once prior to her marriage to my great-grandfather...her first married name was Lattieri. She had daughters by that name and my grandfather, Lorenzo, with Biagio Merola. I don't know much about either Giovanna Guadagno Merola or Biagio, except that she died in New Haven in 1917 in her 40's, and he went back to Italy and remarried there.

I am one of the descendents of the Quadagno family in Harrison NY. My Grandfather, Lawrence Quadagno, I believe was the oldest of the boys. Peter, Tony, and Connie are his siblings. I believe this is the same family you spoke of, but I never heard anything about them being in New Haven, Ct and am excited to learn more.

My understanding is they came from Maddaloni, and my Great Grandfather – and previous generations – maintained the gardens for the city. There was actually a tale of them being ‘royalty’.

My father – Lawrence M. Quadagno – is the keeper of a ‘niche’ that is a family heirloom. The niche is rumored to have saved some lives over the years; it is a rendering of a church that is in Maddaloni.

I would like to converse with anyone from the family and especially with anyone from Italy with hopes of visiting Maddaloni this year to see the town

Maybe they had more than 5children?

page 2

Husband Michele is also mentioned on the manifest. Closest living relative in Italy is her sister Biaga.

Daughter Angela (born about 1904) also travels with Costanza

Just curious... is the surname "Quadagno" current in your family?? ... You keep spelling it this way in your messages...,

Clearly, it is Guadagno on the manifest... If it indeed was a "Q", the script "Q" would resemble the number 2...

MikeyQuad who replied to your post mentioned the town Maddaloni, the same town as Constanza's....

Addy who replied earlier also has a Biago in his family... maybe related??

Seasons Greetings!
