I am new to the forum. I need some help on tracking down birth certificate records for Pietro Pasta, born in Palermo somewhere between 1880 and 1890.
Would anyone be able to give some advice on where to start looking, or how to request these documents? Thanks very much in advance.

Re: Palermo: Pietro Pasta
Thank you guys very much for all of the help. I am amazed you were able to find all of this so quickly.
The next step would be requesting birth certificates. I am a bit confused with the entire process, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I guess the next set of questions I have are:
1. Given the information that you were able to find, is it safe to assume I could try and request the certificates from the Comune di Palermo?;
2. Was there an issue with people changing their names upon arrival to the U.S. So, could it be that Pietro Pasta was an "Americanized" name and they may not have records available at the Comune?
3. From here, what is the best way to request the certificates?
Thank you so much in advance for all the help.

Re: Palermo: Pietro Pasta
If you don't need certificates for citizenship you can get the Family History Library films Registri dello stato civile di Palermo (Palermo), 1820-1908 for the records you seek there is a lot of records of the different sections
