Vito Lorusso
Born May 10th, 1895
son of Michele and Teresa Ninivaggi
Height; 1,68 m Thorax: 89 cm
Straight brown hair
Grey eyes
swarthy
healthy teeth
can read and write
peasant

in short:
May 23th, 1915: sent to war area (on the 24th, Italy officially entered WWI)
May 5th, 1917: left war area because wounded
June 1st, 1917: sent home from Military Hospital of Florence, waiting for physical examination
October 31st(?), 1917: declared unable for military service
However, he was recognized to have kept a good conduct, and have served with loyalty and honour.
At the bottom of page, is reported that
"on may 5th, 1917, he was wounded at his right eye because of a bomb explosion by enemy" (following is the number of the document stating this)
He was allowed to bear the "badge of honour".
He was given the "commemorative medal"
He was given the "inter-allied medal"
He was authorized to bear the "War Cross"

I'm sorry for mistakes, but I always find rather difficult to translate "military words"... if you have some doubt, please ask!

Pippo, I see that you are located in Rome and do genealogical searches. Do you know any local genealogicical reserachers located in Agrigento, Sicily? I need someone locally to go to the Church of the Annunziata in Racalmuto, Agrigento, Sicily and look up some church records of my family. I was there in May for too short a visit and found some family information in the 30 minutes that I had available before rejoining an escorted tour. I know there is a lot more family information and the church records are indexed and well organized in bound books by spans of years. It would be too expensive to pay travel and hotel expenses for an out of town researcher. The church directory is locked up, but the priest at the nearby Church of Maria del Carmelo was able to get someone to give access.
