Stabile/Zampar - Monfalcone

Good day,

I am from South Africa and am assisting my wife whose father was from Italy find her Italian family. Unfortunately we do not speak Italian and have no idea of where to look for information.

We know that her Grandfather was Valentino Stabile, Born 5 Feb 1898 (probably Monfalcone) and died 22 Feb 1984 (Monfalcone). He was married to Christina Zampar (born 1903) and died (1990 - Monfalcone).

Could anyone provide us with direction as to where and how to start please? We are looking for Valentino and Christina's parents.

Are you speaking of Monfalcone in Gorizia Province?

I find no records available online for Monfalcone. There are microfilmed records at your local LDS Family History Center for some of the comuni in Gorizia Province, but I do not see Monfalcone listed among them.

I believe at the time of the births (1898 and 1903), this area may have still been under Austrian rule...

My suggestion is to write directly to the town office in Monfalcone to request the birth records of both Valentino and Cristina.
