Do I qualify for dual citizenship

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Do I qualify for dual citizenship

Post by ftino1951 »

I would like to know if I qualify. My grandfather came to the USA (do not know if he was naturalized )and married my grandmother here in the states. They got divorced and my grandfather moved back to Italy before my father was born. My father is my grandfathers son. He also got remarried in Italy and pass-a-way there.
Thank You,

Dates would be helpful. If your grandfather was still an Italian citizen when your father was born, and the odds are he was (though you will have to prove it), your father is also an Italian citizen.
You certainly would qualify through him.

Was his name on your father's birth certificate? If not, when were your grandparents married?
