Salvatore Lobosco

Post by dlobo74 »

Thanks to this great forum I found out about the Loboscos back to Siciliy. The only family member that seems to have dropped off the map was Salvatore Lobosco. He was born in 1882, and came over here in 1909 with his wife. Reportedly he settled in Chicago. It is so strange, there are records of him in Italy, but once he came to the US, I can find nothing about - his children or when he died.

I have tried Ancestry, Findagrave, and Chicago newspapers. Any help would be appreciated. His brothers were Antonio and Francesco (my great grandfather), which I have found out everything about.

Thanks again!

Apollino Grana is her name. They were married in Italy and then came over here. I am amazed I can not find anything else on Salvatore or Apollino, death dates or children. It looks like they moved to Chicago but perhaps they moved back to Italy.

Thanks for your help.

Interesting stuff! I wonder if he changed his name from Salvatore to Sam. I don't know if Sam/Salvatore died - but I can't find him in the 1930 census.

Possible first arrival in the U.S. for Salvatore, travelling with his brother Francesco, joining their brother Antonino in Pittsburgh PA?

Wow, I am amazing what you were able to find. Thank you so much. If I can not find any record of Salvatore Lobosco here in the US, does that means he went back to Italy? I'm surprised I can't find any death record if he stayed in the US.

It looks like Appollino came over with Salvatore Lobosco in 1913. I found a record on Ancestry.com. They were met by my great grandfather Francesco Lobosco.

I am now thinking maybe Salvatore LoBosco changed his name to Salvatore Bosco. There is a Salvatore Bosco in the Pittsburgh area, but no mention of his wife Appollino. I am thinking maybe Appollino died.

Either way when I research Salvatore Bosco I come up to a dead end again.
