Cancillas in Altavilla

I am amazed at how much info you have on here. I hope one day to be able to repair the people that have helped me rediscover my family.

My great grandmother was Mary Cancilla (1887-1965). She came to America from Altavilla with her mother Rose Cancilla (1852-1912?) who was a widow. I was wondering if there is more info on the Cancillas. I'd love to find out if my great grandmother had siblings and what happened to them. My great grandmother was married to Francesco LoBosco (1879-1969).

Dave do you have a shipmanifest for Rose and Mary Cancilla?
Do you have the marriage record Francesco and Mary?
I am thinking they weren't from Altavilla I LOOKED THROUGH THE BIRTH INDEXES Altavilla Milicia Indici decennali (nati),1886-1895 didn't see a Cancilla listed in the indexes at all I m thinking they were from the Trabia area.

I wondering if Rosa Cancilla is her maiden name which would make sense
Italian woman keep there maiden name after there husbands die
Would be nice to find marriage record of Francesco and Mary you know where they got married in Pennsylvania
Or a death record of Rosa Cancilla

I know. I can find neither. Rose appeared in the 1910 census but not the 1920 census

I don't think Cancilla is Rose's maiden name - because it was her daughter Mary's name as well.

Do you have a record with her maiden name on it? You might have to contact Allegheny county, Pennsylvania and see if they can help with marriage record of Francesco and Mary 1904-1908 Francis was 2yrs old in 1910
