Lucchetti Scannavino Albertoni from Chiavari

Francesco Lucchetti (b: 1838) was in love with Rosa Albertoni (b: 1863) while living in Chiavari. He wanted to bring her to America, but her parents would not allow it.

Rosa was born on 1848 not on 1863, so this "family tale" could be true ... If Francesco went away from Castiglione on around 1870 she was around 20 years old, she married Luigi Scannavino on 1868...

Rosa Albertoni's father, Giovanni Battista Albertoni died 5 months before she married Luigi Scannavino, this is his Death Act:

Albertoni Giovanni Battista died in Castiglione Chiavarese on 24 july 1868 at 11 a.m., he was 55 years old, occupation proprietor, born and resident in Castiglione Chiavarese, husband of the living Catterina Battilana daughter of the late Antonio, son of the lates Aurelio Albertoni and Chiara Battilana (maiden name) both resident in Castiglione Chiavarese when alive.

Your work is incredible. I can't thank you enough. I spoke with a cousin who gave me some more information.

Scannavino and Albertoni supposedly came here with 3 children. A boy and a girl were Scannavino's from a previous marriage, and one boy, John Anthony Scannavino, who was their son together. The boy died in a swimming accident. The girl's name was Flora.

Flora supposedly married at the age of 13.

Albertoni died during childbirth with her second child, Maria, who was my great-grandmother.

I don't see a boy in your research, and the girl who would have been a match was named Maria. I wonder if her name was Flora.

And perhaps the boy who died in a swimming accident, passed away in Italy and never made it to America.

I use Ancestry.com, and I have the global membership, but I don't pull up any of the records that you are finding. Thank you again for sharing them.

thank you for the update....

Regarding the marriage between Rosa Albertoni and Luigi Scannavino I can confirm you that it was the first marriage for them both, I re-checked the folder of the "Allegati agli atti di matrimonio" and their marriage bann....
In the folder I found an official act drafted by a Notary concerning Luigi Scannavino... Some friends (Nicolò Gallo, Angelo Giambruni, Santino Rollero, Giovanni Battista Perazzo, Nicolò Chioino) testified in front of a Notary in Sestri Levante that Luigi Scannavino lived in California from November 1861 to 23 september 1868 and that he didn't married while in California.
In all the other documents including the marriage banns there is no trace of a previous marriage... Keep in mind that it was necessary to present a death act in the case of widowhood of the bride or the groome...

Scannavino Emanuele died in Castiglione Chiavarese in the night between 18 and 19 april 1869 in the hamlet Campegli. He was found dead on the street. Francesco also was a brother to, Domenico (b: 1834), Luigi Lucchetti (b: 1836) and Carlo Lucchetti (b: 1837). Carlo was a Consulate for Italy in Africa or South America. Carlo had a son, Eduardo, who was killed in a motorcycle accident. Eduardo was a POW and was held in an English camp.
