Malandra Help Finding Birth Certificate

Post by malandroaz »

Hello,

I am having real trouble finding my GGF birth certificate. I believe he was born in casalincontrada based on WWI draft card. I requested the micro film from the time frame I believe his birth. 1881-1886. Did not find any eugenio malandra in the microfilm from Caslinecontrada.

Eugenio Malandra. I have seen 2 draft cards with the same name (born same town) but 2 years apart. 1884 and 1886. My GGF settled down in New Castle, PA.

Any help would be great. I am lost :(

My grandfather name is Rudolph Malandro

I looked through the microfilm did not see it but doesnt mean it was there. This microfilm is very hard to read for me. If I cannot read the microfilm what other options are there? I paid ICAP but I feel that it was a waste and lots of money as I did not get any customer service or results.

Lets try to find a close birth date for Eugenio Malandra
His shipmanifest says born 1887 coming from Casalincontrada and if you look down the list there is also a Nicola Malandra coming from Casalincontrada they are both going to Philadelphia to see Filippo D'Alessandro

Also could Eugenio be his middle name? And he did not go by first name but his middle.

Can you post the WWI draft card?

EDIT: Found this...
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... :804949169

However, I do not believe this is the correct Eugene Malandro.

I believe I have located the 1920 Census for your GGF's family in New Castle, PA
Wife, Angeline, and children, Clara (age 9), Joe (age 8) and Albert (age 4y 6m)
That means in 1917 (the date of the WWI card above) Eugene would have had three children.

Is this your GGF's family?

That is where I get confused to? Who is this Eugenio Malandra that lived in NJ but from the same little town in Italy? Could it be the same person? My GGF?

I went through the microfilm from that town yesterday and the only Eugenio Malandra on record is Eugenio Malandra born 1886 Sept. On the birth certificate the mother name is Maria. I know that my GGF Eugenio mother name was Maria.

When you are researching be open minded with your years of birth on USA records they tend to be off especialy census.Did Eugenio have any siblings you can check for the same parents with the films you have.

As Marty has said... be flexible in your thinking about US documents' facts, especially dates.

I believe, seeing Livio's translation, that you have found the birth record you were searching for.
