Looking for info on the Riscili family of Vicari, Sicily

Hello.. Hoping someone might be able to help with the Riscili or Riscile family from Vicari, Sicily.

I am trying to figure out the connection between Leonardo Riscile, who settled in Florida and the Riscili family from Westfield, NY.

My great-grandfather is Giuseppi Riscili, who I believe married Pauline Latona. I also believe that his parents were Giorgio Riscili and Vincenza Raimondi - but I'm not positive. Does anyone have any info that might point me in the right direction?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I looked at the other post and did not see a birth record for Giuseppe Riscili, the poster's GGF....
Did I miss it? I thought he was looking for confirmation that Giuseppe was the son of Giorgio Riscili and Vincenza Raimondi... OOPS! I went back to view the post again... found the BR

AND for a connection between the families from Westfield NY and Tampa Florida...

Just wanted to say thanks to you guys for your research. Like Mark, I am related to the Riscili's, for me it is through my grandmother - Josephine Riscili (Herkey). The trail back from her father Joseph Riscili and Pauline Latona has been a daunting task until I stumbled across your posts. Thanks so very much!

That is definitely a possibility!!!

Here is the marriage record (1869) of parents of Leonardo Riscili. (record #23 at bottom right)
Giuseppe Riscili (23) was the son of Francesco, and of deceased Angela Russo
Rosalia Coniglio (17) was the daughter of Leonardo, and of Lucia Spavario

Thanks Tessa and Marty.. I'm beginning to wonder if Leonardo was a cousin rather than one of the brothers. I was originally thinking he was from Giuseppe Riscile / Francesca Cavarretta, but the reference you had to Giuseppe Riscili / Rosalia Coniglio has added a little more mystery.

Unfortunately there is no family left who can guide me back to the old country, so I truly appreciate your help.

Glad to have helped. Marty and Biff gathered some great records, and I am trying to make that "connection" for you as I look through the finds.

Have located the marriage allegati (attachments to the marriage record that includes birth records, and publication of the banns of marriage, etc.) for the marriage of Giorgio Riscili and Vincenza Raimondi. Hope it will bring some new facts

My name is Laura and Giuseppe Riscili (original spelling Richili) born 8/19/1885, Vicari, Sicily is my grandfather. He married Concetta LaBarbera 11/14/1909 in Westfield, NY. His great grandfather is Giuseppe and he was married to Francesca Cavarata. They had two boys, Francesco and Salvatore. Francesco's his father, my great grandfather. Georgio Salvatore (born 1885, Vicari) is my grandmother Concetta's brother, he married a lady with the first name Ida. I don't have a last name. I don't have any information beyond my great great grandfather and mother. Do you have any information about Bernardo balsamo, Francesca Pannella, Nicholas LaBarbera, Josephine Rizzo or Josephine Viamo? I would appreciate any info that you have. My father was Salvatore Riscili, born 12/13/1925, Westfield, NY. Married to Pauline Gregory.

Thanks for the info. I have to sort a couple names out in my tree as I have differences from your info.

I don't have a lot of info for you, but I do have two of the names - Bernardo Balsamo and Nicholas LaBarbera. I've attached a couple news items. I hope they relate to the same people as you are asking about.

I'll see what else I can come up with on the other names. Any other info you think would help on the family would be great. There are two family members remaining in Niagara Falls - George Riscili and Angeline Riscili Patruno from the original group from Vicari and Westfield.
