the commas threw me off

i am having a hard time finding maria di martino - wife of giuseppe d'oria

it looks like they got married before 1815 so i couldn't find out her parents names

i saved all the death files with her name

i searched deaths from 1850 to 1890 - there are a lot of maria di martinos - not one mentioned her husband giuseppe d'oria

so i started looking up their children - donata in 1819, pietro in 1820, pietro in 1824, nicola in 1826, anna lucia in 1827

giuseppe's parents names are pietro and donata so i'm figuring maria's parents names are nicola and anna lucia

here's what i found

#647
Maria di Martino

please translate to see if the info fits her

i'm still checking the other files

thank you ever so much

This Maria di Martino died at age 15 months.
Her parents were Nicola di Martino, peasant farmer; and Lucia Nenna, spinner.

I have a bit of time... would you like me to search a few of the years?

Just an FYI - when you search surnames that have a "prefix" like "di" - you need to search BOTH the "D" and (in this case) "M" surnames :-)

hi tessa

thank you for the info about searching the "d"s - i never thought about that - i'm doing that now

please send translation for anna lucia

i've been going through every deaths for martino's and di martino's since 1815 looking for children with parents of nicola di martino and anna lucia

also a death for nicola - might show his wife's name

1825 and 1836 are missing

i'm on year 1839 now

you would think there would be some children born to nicola di martino and anna lucia

still can't find a death date for maria di martino

just found this one

#329

http://www.antenati.san.beniculturali.i ... 9.jpg.html

looks like it has anna lucia but i can't make out the father's name - how old was this lady?

what i haven't looked up yet is marriages starting with 1815 of martino's or di martino's

you are very welcome to help

thank you

Hi Carmen...
I chose to translate this record first as it provides Maria di Martino's parents' names, and the date of death of her father.

#109
8 November 1817 in Trani
Appeared Giuseppe d’Oria, 26, peasant farmer, son of Pietro age 50, and of Donata Melillo, age 50, residing with their son, They are present to give their consent to marry.
AND
Maria d’ Martino , age 22, spinner, daughter of deceased Pietro (died in this town on 27 October 1801(?) as documented in the allegati); and assisted by her mother Anna Lucia di Davino(sp?), age 46, spinner residing with her daughter, who is present to give her consent to marry.
Banns posted on 21 and 28 September.

Yes, I believe that is di Domigio - you can see the same name several times on the following page of the index.
The listing you are referencing will appear somewhere between #130 and #138 (the first # on the next page of the index) - and the given name appears to be Elisabetta

EDIT TO ADD:
Here is the link to the record... She was only 1 year old

Nothing new...

Death on 12 July 1850
Giuseppe was age 50, husband of Maria di Martino (so she was still living)
He was the son of deceased Pietro; and deceased Donata Melillo
