Cellole records

Post by chrisb2012 »

I just learned that my grandparents may have been born in Cellole in the Campania region. I know that they emigrated from Sessa Aurunca. Can anyone tell me how to find birth records for Cellole? Thanks.

Cellole split off from Sessa Aurunca in 1975, so older records for Cellole would be found under Sessa Aurunca. Marriage and death records from the 1920s for Sessa Aurunca can be found online here: https://familysearch.org/search/image/i ... %3D2043630

Microfilms of civil records for Sessa Aurunca from 1809 to 1829 can be viewed at a Family History Center. Here is the link to order the film:

Some civil records for Sessa Aurunca are also indexed online at FamilySearch.org. I see birth records from the 1820s to 1840s at least. That link is here: https://familysearch.org/search

Thank you so much for those replies. I'm still trying to track things down. It appears that the birth years I am looking for (1870s) may be missing (of course!). But I'm still looking. Thanks again.

I just noticed that you had asked the same question on another topic, and already received the information I gave you. I wish I had known that before I spent time researching Cellole records.

Have you viewed the microfilm I mentioned? That would be your best bet to find the record. (Aside from just contacting the comune of course, if you know your ancestor's approximate year of birth and parents' names.)

I apologize for the inconvenience. I'm not sure why that happened, I only posted the question once.

I have not had the opportunity to view the microfilm yet. I think I will first attempt to contact the commune. Thanks again.
