Hello to all,
I'm new at this,
My name is Kenneth Roy.

I have much information on the descendents & second wife of Bernardo Galioto.
But not much of his first wife & parents & any siblings (if more than one)

I know Bernardo Galioto was born on July 14, 1894 and died on December 23rd 1965.
I've seen records on Ancestry display his last name spelled as Galiotto.

I know he was married to Nettie Curreri. (I'm not sure if that was her official name or just a nickname that the family gave her.. )
See I have a certified copy of Bernardo & Nettie's marriage certificate:
It lists his name spelled correctly Bernardo Galioto & Nettie's name was Leonardo Currin.. I'm not sure what that is about.. never seen it spelt that way at all.

She and her son are buried in St. Raymond's Cemetery & the years are listed with her name 1900 - 1941. Her last name on the headstone is labeled as Curreri.

Nettie was born in 1900 -- I'm not sure what month or day.
& she died in June of 1941. -- I know this from the cemetery info. They also told me her birhtdate was never given to the cemetery information & a "death certificate was never filed for her.. but give her death.. a coroner's report could've been filed with the city.. not the cemetery.. I'm in the process of attaining a coroner's report.

Per my relatives request. They didn't want me to include the names of the children of Bernardo and Nettie. But there were 3 children and all 3 are living together with Bernardo & Nettie in 1930 in Queens, NY. I never found them in the 1940s census. I did find Bernardo in the 1920 census, 1915, and his family in 1925.

Anyway,
After Nettie died
Bernardo remarried to Orsola Lo Bue.
She was born on May 23, 1900 & died on March 15th, 1978
I got the pleasure to meet Orsola on a trip to Italy in 1974. While she told me she was in good health and her memory of her family was very sharp. She gave me personally a lot of information on her family. (She actually died in her sleep. But otherwise, perfect health. No mental or physical conditions)

Orsola didn't know much about Bernardo's family.
She did give me photos (which Unfortunately were burned in a fire)

I have 2 photos:
1 photo is of Bernardo's headstone in Italy.
ON the back of the photo it reads:

Figlio di Giacinto Galioto & Antonina DiPiazza
Giacinto nato nel 1840
Antonina DiPiazza nato circa 1858.

This is all I know about Bernardo's parents: I'm hoping someone will tell me more. Fingers Crossed.

Orsola also told me that Bernardo had a brother named Antonio "Anthony" Galioto he was born in 1891. I'm not sure if he came to NY or stayed in Italy. Orsola didn't know the answer to that. I guess Bernardo & Anthony weren't close... Who knows.

I didn't know that the Galioto's were farmers. I figured most people were in Italy back during that time period, but you never know where your family truly comes from.

Do you by chance have any idea so far on how to place Pietro Vento in the tree? This would be the second known relative that I know of to come to the U.S.

I'm some-what familiar with family search.. and while the images are on the computer and are priceless information. In my age, it is very difficult for me to read the images... must less read and understand any once of Italian.

You've uncovered some information for me and I was able to use the searchable index of Family search & find some other little dates and info. I will post information soon:

As for Bernardo Galioto & Pietro Vento being cousins.. yes it seems to that it would be better fit.

My next project will be to try to connect them both in the family tree.
