Marotta & Caliendo from San Vitaliano

I am helping a great grandson of Mariano Marotta & Maria Grazia Pavone, who were from San Vitaliano. They are buried in that cemetery, with 4 others (children?) Ferdinando, Nicola, Maddalena & Guiseppe. There are no dates and we'd like more info on Mariano & Maria Grazia. Can you help?
Their son Antonio married a Guiseppina Caliendo also from San Vitaliano, who was a daughter of a Filippo Caliendo. Also looking for info on that those Caliendos.

can you estimate the decade in which their deaths, marriages took place? The current population for San Vitaliano is 6,000 + which would make it difficult to find the information for you if you want documents in your possession. Peter

There are microfilmed records for the town (not currently available online) but only for the years 1809 to 1865. As Peter Timber has already pointed out, you would need to estimate years for each event (marriage, death, etc), in order to get help from the town. I've found that estimates normally have to be within a 5 year range, or the clerks in the town offices will not bother. Without any dates to go on, it will be most difficult for you to determine such a range for each event. I use to count back 25 years for each generation as a general estimate, but with multiple marriages, etc, that is often far from accurate-

You might want to send a form letter (separate for each request so the clerks don't get dumped on) in Italian which can be found at www.circolocalabrese.org, click genealogy and find form letters. Thanks so much...I will send the letter. Mariano's son Antonio Marotta was born in San Vitaliano July 16, 1884, so his parents Mariano & Maria Grazia may have been born around 1860. They are both buried in the San Vitaliano cemetery, with maybe 4 of their chidren: Ferdinando, Maddalena, Nicola and Guiseppe. One interesting thing: Antonio changed his name to "Nicola" after being in the U.S. a few years. The San Vitaliano cemetery shows no dates on the family crypt. Thanks for all your help!
