Asteriti surname
My name is Marnie. I am looking for more information about my ancestor Giuseppa Asteriti. She is the wife of Antonio Lorenzo. She was born about 1840 in Isola Capo Rizzuto. She had a daughter Luigia Lorenzo, born in 1862, who married Giuseppe DeRose in 1883.

Re: Asteriti surname
I am grateful for your help. I am just beginning research into my Italian ancestry and am excited to learn where my ancestors lived, what they did, and to get to know them. All I really know is that my great-grandfather, Pietro Alfredo De Rose, was born in Italy and emigrated to the US. His parents are Giuseppe De Rose (born 1856 in Frusci or Feruci, Trenta, Cosenza) and the Luigia Lorenzo I mentioned earlier. Thank you for your suggestions and assistance - I have much to learn - and look forward to further communication.

Was he a baker by trade? This Pietro was age 23, a baker, and single.
He was from Cosenza, and was joining a cousin (Ippolito Veltri ?) in Allegheny (PA ?)
