Looking for DiPietro - Cerami Marriage Record

Post by rp76226 »

Joseph (Giuseppe) DiPietro was born in Italy about 1883 from a 1920 and 1940 Census record showing him living at 801 Southern Boulevard, Bronx, NYC with his wife (Rosaria "Sadie" Cerami). She was born November 23, 1890 in Italy (probably Petralia Soprano in Sicily) and arrived in the US on May 23, 1912 at Ellis Island). Their oldest child, Salvatore, was born in 1918. Therefore the wedding probably took place in the Bronx or Brooklyn between 1912 and 1918. I'm hoping to find the parents of Joseph (Giuseppe) DiPietro. Link for 1920 census (lines 12-15) -

I checked the New York City Marriage index for them, but was unsuccessful. :?
You might try writing to St. Anthanasius Church. It is within walking distance from the address you give for them at 801 Southern Blvd. Perhaps they were married there?

Thanks Marty. I know that part of the Cerami side including her parents and grandparents. It's the DiPietro side that I don't know. I mistakenly put 1890 as her birth year and should have put 1896. I re-checked - I have her italian birth certificate and it was 1896 in Petralia Soprano.
