Paoletti Family search

Hello all,

I am desperately searching for my Grandmother's family. Her name was Mary (Meri) Paoletti. She was actually born in San Francisco in 1903. Her father, Francesco Paoletti was a wagon Maker. In 1906 when the earthquake hit the family lost everything so he took his family back to Guamo Italia which is near Lucca.

The only things I know about my grandmother's family is that she and all but one of her brothers came back the the US. I know all of my family that is here and have met my cousins and their children that are still in Italy when they came to visit. I do not know enough Italian to contact them by phone to get more information.

Francisco was born around 1874 and married Dallida Paganucci. He died in 1955 as far as I can tell. I know that they are from the Lucca area. But that is pretty much it. I have no family names other than that, no siblings, etc.

Can someone give me a good place to start?

You could write to the town and ask for a Stato di Famiglia for Francesco and his death record. It may have the name of one of his sons as the person who declared the death.
