great grandfather

Post by pattym »

I am trying to find out about my great grandfather. All I know is that he came to the United States from Naples. I do not know the correct spelling of his name. Mishel Riccardo ? or Mishal Ricardo?
He was born in Dec. 1950. He came to the US in 1872.
This is all the information that I have. I would appreciate any help that I can get.
Thank you. Patty

the italian name could be Michele RICCARDI, or RICCIARDI, or RICCIARDO... I cannot find the 1880 census, maybe the name could be no anglicized...

This is interesting

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cg ... d=79264206

Looks like his wife's surname was not Altemere, but that one of her given names was Altamarie and her surname is Freeman

I suspect that this was their marriage https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQYG-89Q

I have seen a few family trees which have Michael W. Richards wife listed as Nancy Ann Altamarie "Mary" Freeman and Alti Marie Freeman. No parents however, but you may learn something from looking at the children

If you are in Ancestry.com or can access it from a library of family history center, this is one of the trees I mentioned earlier: http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/1384965/ ... 6960667982
