Thank you :-)
Will do that!

Actually, I know a little bit more know, and will send that email to the community of San Colombano Certinoli or the next bigger community it belongs to! I found a passenger list for Andrea that fits in the picture perfectly and he states as last residence "Cichero":)
And I found what I strongly believe to be his birth certificate :)
It names Cichero as place of residence, birth date is correct by a few days (compared to what he indicated in his WW II draft record).

I am looking for his father Giacomo's marriage record now, I want to find out if he perhaps remarried, since the mother's name on the birth record is different, but indicates that she was a foundling.

I am looking through the records of San Colombano Certinoli right now, and I would appreciate greatly some help with a short translation. The name

Andrea Monteverde "del su(?) Giacomo"is mentioned in someone elses marriage record!

Here the link, the text is in the third line from the bottom of the page!

Here is the link to the birth record!

Andrea Monteverde "del fu Giacomo" [meaning son of deceased Giacomo], age 55, civil servant, is present as a witness to the marriage of Giovanni Andrea Foppiano and Maria Teresa Antonia Costa.

AND... if you go to the third page of the record, you will see his signature :-)

Okay, links coming separately! Thank you for helping!!!

@ Tessa. I'm sorry, I forgot to mention that the record is from 1866, so is not *my* Andrea di Giacomo, but names tend to stay in the family, so I wanted to know why that name came up :)

This census from 1925 is the only one fishy when it comes to Andrea's age. But I've seen it oftentimes that people just didn't care much. Names and ages of wife and children correct.

NY census from 1930.
In all censuses his year of immigration ranges around 1900.
