Need your help once again!!!

Post by Mardi »

Hoping you can help me once again to find passenger ship that Rosa Trombatore arrived.

Rosa (Rose) Trombatore was born around 1882 in Italy. I have her parents as Bernardo Trombatore and Liboria Bernice Cimpa (not sure of the correct spelling).

Rosa married Castranza [Joe] Arsena 1901 in Louisiana.
I did find their Census. In 1910 Census Rosa Immigration year was 1900 and in the 1920 Census it had Immigration year as 1886.

Looking for her ship to see who she was traveling with. Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much,
Mardi

Did Rosa have siblings that may have arrived at the same time?

I did find a message on Ancestry.com that someone had mention that she arrived with her brother and his name was Joseph Trombatore. Also found Mother's maiden name as Bernice TIMBO; (I had put Liboria Bernice CIMPA).

Thank you for your Help.

According to Social Security Index, Rosa Arsena was born on Oct 10th, 1882.
I got Rosa's birth record in Corleone (where a lot of Trombatore/Trumbaturi are from):

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... ,352269501

I wonder if you need it.
Her surname is spelt Trombadore.
She was the daughter of Bernardo, 47 yeras old, peasant.
Mother was Liboria Timpa.

Thank you PippoM for finding this important document. Is there a possibility that Liboria Maiden name is spelled incorrect and could be Limpo.

I know this is asking a lot but are their any other children of Bernardo Trombatore and Liboria Timpa. I appreciate you help.

I was lucky...I easily found the birth record of Maria Concetta Trombadore:

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... ,352256301

She was born on Dec 25, 1880 in parents' house at 38, via Bottonaro.
Mother's surname is again spelled Timpa.

As to other children...well, it may be a long work.
Here are records for Corleone:

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/T ... %3D2051639

"Nati" or "Nascite" = Births
"Morti"= Deaths
"Matrimoni"=Marriages

At the end of each year register there's an alphabetical index.
Sometimes registers are split in two parts. In this case, there may be a unique, or different indexes. With time and patience, you can find everything you need. Bernardo was 45 in 1880, so, they might have been married for a long time (= a lot of registers to check).

Thank you for finding Rosa Trombatore's mother correct maiden name. If Rosa parents were up in age at her birth, I kind of doubt that her parents traveled to the United States.

I am looking for Rosa Trombatore's ship. Do not know the age she came but was traveling with her brother Joseph Trombatore at that time.

Thank you Pippo for the websites.
